The FLUF Metaverse.
Happy Sunday! Today’s article is about FLUF world — one of the more creative but complex projects in Web3. There’s a lot going on so hold on for the ride!
The Profile Basics
Project Name:
Fluf World
by
Non-Fungible Labs
Industry:
web3 - Consumer (Play-to-earn)
Floor Price:
4.1 ETH for FLUFs
,
1.3 ETH for Burrows
(virtual land),
1.7 ETH for Thingies
Break It Down for Me
Problem:
In web2, traditional gaming studios tend to focus on gameplay and less on cross-project and community collaboration that can lead to a variety of particularly exciting results.
Solution:
Community building, aligned user-platform incentives (as with any web3 project), partnerships, and a high level of openness and creativity are key here. How many platforms allow you to train your NFTs using AI, fly around the metaverse, edit and customize elements of your NFTs, own virtual real estate, AND attend virtual and in-person concerts from top artists?
Core Users:
Holders of FLUF NFTs or supported/partnered project NFTs including PartyBear, Thingies, ASM, Jadu, among others.
Walk Me Through It:
FLUF world is an NFT ecosystem revolving around its Rabbit NFTs called FLUF. FLUFs were the first audio-visual NFTs and serve as NFTs for participation in Play to Earn games, while also doubling as tickets to exclusive physical experience such as shows and events.
FLUF has released its virtual lands, called Burrows, in partnership with Snoop Dogg, that include four levels of virtual real estate: The Den, The Suite, The High Rolla, and Studio Snoop Dogg. Burrow holders will be able to host or attend virtual concerts and events, as well as rent their virtual land. They have integrated with a number of extremely impressive projects (more on this in a second) and plan on releasing a mobile version of a play to earn game and their token in upcoming months.
Show Me the Money
Currently:
FLUF world currently monetizes from NFT mint sales, a cut of secondary sales from their NFTs. There’s also a plan to monetize in the future with their play to earn token, Mycelium, once released.
Be Wary
Where to be wary for FLUF:
It is still early
— their token has not yet launched and neither has their mobile or VR play to earn game. Though it has an extremely strong community, such high expectations set the possibility of under-delivering given that currently the contents of the play to earn game are completely unknown.
Now Get Excited
In my opinion, this is one of the most exciting NFT projects for the following reasons:
Customization:
One aspect that is unique to FLUF is that FLUF holders can choose to customize aspects of their NFTs. Character attributes that FLUF holders can customize include the song that plays as a theme for their NFT as well as the visual background for their FLUF.
IP Rights
: Like with
Bored Apes
, FLUF holders have full commercial rights to the NFTs. Bored Apes owners have used this to create brands around coffee shops, skateboards and merch (as well as rumors that one was involved in conversations for a potential Super Bowl ad); FLUF holders will gain similar IP rights over their own NFTs as well as the ability to create stories around their character to develop a brand.
Partnership/Integrations
: Another aspect of this project that makes it particularly intriguing are its partnerships. It’s partnered with Party Bear (Bears with similar customizable backgrounds and theme songs),
Jadu
(so FLUFs can fly around their burrows) and
Altered State Machine
. The ASM partnership in particular is interesting as it enables FLUF and ASM holders to automate activities that their FLUF can participate in
—train them to autonomously earn yield, and even talk or interact with others. This is particularly useful for members that hold multiple FLUFs as they can potentially automate and deploy all their FLUF NFTs at the same time in play to earn games. Finally another NFT collection made by the FLUF world, Thingies (tarantula characters), in combination with ASM will be able to auto-produce generative art.
In Person and VR concerts: FLUF has already been hosting in-person events and today are hosting a Super Bowl-themed metaverse faceoff between FLUFs and Bears with performances from Chromeo, AngelBaby, and T-Pain.
I’ll be following this project in the following months pretty closely and hope you will be too.
